Maribor· SloveniaAbout this landmark
A gondola from the Maribor suburbs to the Pohorje ridge, skiing, bike trails and forest walking from a city bus stop.
The gondola runs from Zgornje Radvanje, reachable on a city bus, up to around 1,050 m on Pohorje. In winter it serves Slovenia’s largest ski area by piste length and the floodlit slope used for the women’s World Cup Golden Fox races. In summer it carries walkers and mountain bikers to a network of forest trails, including a bike park. Because Pohorje is silicate rather than limestone, the top has peat bogs and small lakes, which is unusual for the region.
